Folly Beach and Charleston

This past weekend Mike and I traveled to Folly Beach for our one year anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s been one year already! We’ve had a wonderful year and were excited to travel to the beach. Our honeymoon was in Riviera Maya, Mexico but decided to stay in the US and opted for a vacation rental by owner instead of a hotel. Folly Beach doesn’t have too many hotels and with a rental car we knew Charleston was only about 25 minutes away.

A trip to the beach is so relaxing and it’s always hard to leave. We went to the beach in the morning and then ventured off in the afternoon and evening. Some of our activities included paddle board and kayaking at Shem Creek in Charleston, Holy City Brewing, walking along Waterfront Park and Rainbow Row in downtown Charleston, the Charleston City Market, and dinner at Amen Street restaurant. We even purchased local grouper and cooked it on the grill for the first time and it was delicious!

Below are some pictures highlighting our trip.

    1. It was great, your recommendations helped a lot and we enjoyed just checking things out as we went too! Mike said the shrimp and grits he had at Amen was the best meal he’s ever had! :)
