Friday's Fab Five

Friday’s Fab Five

Hi there! Happy Friday!

How was your week? Are you ready for the weekend?! I am! Today’s high is forecasted at 30 degrees. Can you believe it? Granted, the temperature was -1 this morning with a wind chill of -15 but I’m ready for some nicer weather, finally. Our high’s for the next couple of days are in the 30’s and 40’s, I can’t remember the last time it was that ‘warm’!

I’m ready to get outside some more, walk around, and enjoy the weekend. Mike and I are going to the Milwaukee Admirals game on Sunday and it’s pet day! We have no pet to join in on the fun but I love seeing all of the furry friends, maybe there will be a corgi again and he won’t snub me! I’m also going to a Yoga class on Sunday. I recently gave Yoga a try as a way to relieve stress, not necessarily as a form of exercise, and I definitely felt relaxed after my first class. So I’m willing to give it another try!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I’ve decided to share some fabulous things with you today!

#5 Workout Tote [DSW]
Workout Tote
I received a postcard from DSW recently for this awesome workout tote that I could get for FREE with a $29 purchase since I’m a DSW rewards member. I had to wait until yesterday to get it but I’m excited for it, the yoga mat is included with the tote, how perfect for my current Yoga adventure! If you’re interested in the tote, it’s currently sold out but you can get 10% off with the code TAKETEN. Now, what did I buy for $29 or more? A new mint purse! I’m excited for this to arrive!

If you’re interested in this purse- they have other colors- you can find it [here] on DSW’s website.

#4 26 Ways Pittsburgh Ruins You For Life [Buzzfeed]
PNC Park 2
So, I may have mentioned this once or twice before but I’ll say it again, I love Pittsburgh. I miss it. Mike and I dream about the day when he might have a job opportunity at the company’s headquarters in Pittsburgh. We live and breath Pittsburgh sports. And I agree with many of the things on this list. Like PNC Park. Miller Park is nice with the roof but there is no beautiful skyline like PNC Park has at Miller Park. And then there’s Kennywood where I rode my first rollercoaster which was the Jack Rabbit. Oh and Primanti Bros, I would love to have one of those today with a glass of Yuengling while looking out at the three rivers. So take a gander at this list and see if you can understand why I love this city so damn much. :)

#3 March MATness
Rolling Like a Ball
I mentioned earlier this week that March is “March Matness” month. If you’re interested in participating check out the link above on how to do so. I think this is a great idea that Benjamin, a Pilates teacher, thought of to celebrate Pilates and showcase the mat exercises Joseph Pilates created. You can see my participation on my Instagram account [Tricooking]. One of the great things about the Pilates mat exercises is that you can do them at home! Here I am preparing to do Rolling Like a Ball or as it was first called ‘Rolling Back’.

#2 Daylight Savings Time
Daylight Savings
Sunday is the start of daylight savings time! I’m happy that it’s going to stay light longer but I am sad about losing an hour. It means Monday will be here one hour sooner but hey, we’re that much closer to Spring!!

#1 Kings of Leon [Journal Sentinel]
Kings of Leon
Kings of Leon is headlining at Summerfest this year! To be honest Mike and I aren’t huge fans of Summerfest. We’re really big on music but the venue and atmosphere of Summerfest doesn’t appeal to our concert going nature. It gets really crowded, the drinks and food are overpriced like any other concert, and the parking is overpriced too. And in my honest opinion, it’s a little over exaggerated.  So when it comes to Summerfest we really have to think about whether it’s worth it to go for any bands we enjoy. Last year Dave Matthews Band played at Summerfest one night but we loved Dave at Alpine Valley so we opted not to go and we were already planning for two nights of Dave in Chicago. But there’s a chance that one of my bridesmaids will be able to see Kings of Leon with us so we’re going! Kongos is the opener and I was able to snag some reserved seats during yesterday’s presale. We’re too old for lawn- that’s a story for another day.

Who else is ready for summer? What exciting plans do you have for this summer?

  1. I totally feel you on the weather. I’m in Philly and our forecast looks same. I’m actually excited we are warming up to the 40s next week! One step closer to spring is right!
