The fish fry frenzy continues with a review of Turner Hall Restaurant. As I mentioned on Friday, we went to the Milwaukee Admirals hockey game that evening. I was struggling to decide on a fish fry for dinner and then it hit me, why not try the restaurant right across the street from the hockey arena?
It turns out this was a great idea! After reading about the history of Turner Hall, the kitchen was remodeled in 2012 after being closed for awhile, and with the care they take to make a successful fish fry, I knew this was the place to try. I was also excited about the potato pancakes that accompany the fish.
Mike was excited about the fish as well and even ordered it for his dinner! To date this is our favorite fish fry and here’s why:
Type of Fish: Cod
Extras: Potato pancakes
Price: $12, 3 out of 5
Taste: 4.5 out of 5
Crunch Factor: 4 out of 5
Tartar Sauce: 4.5 out of 5
Flakiness: 4.5 out of 5
Final Score: 20.5 out of 25
The hockey game was also great! Milwaukee played the Chicago farm team, Rockford Ice Hogs and it was a very physical, action packed game that ended in a shoot out with the Admirals coming away with a win. This photo is one of the goals from the shoot out and best describes the look of defeat for the Ice Hogs. Way to go Ads!
