Friday's Top Ten

Friday’s Top Ten, 9.6.13

Happy Friday!

I hope you had a fabulous Labor Day weekend! Why can’t every weekend be a three day weekend?! I had a wonderful time going to Lakefront Brewery for the second time, visiting the lakefront, trying a new drink with Maker’s Mark at Trocadero and lounging around.

Hopefully I will have time next week to try some new recipes and share them with you! I’ll do my best. :)

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this week’s top ten and have a great weekend!

#10 Old Dresser, New Look!
This week Mike and I refinished my old dresser with brand new paint but still maintained its true character. I love the bright pink on the inside of the drawers and the light gray accents. It looks awesome, what do you think!

#9 Pirates Finally .500!
Tuesday I went to the Pirates vs. Brewers game and I was really excited to see my team play in my current state. I’ll root for the Brewers when they aren’t playing for the Pirates but Tuesday I was all for a Pirates win. They managed to pull it off which meant after 20 long years the Pirates will not have a losing season!

#8 Stylish Commute Shoes for Every Season
I found this article for stylish commute shoes for every season on the Daily Muse and think there are some great ideas!

#7 Pitch Perfect
This weekend I watched Pitch Perfect for the third time and it just doesn’t get old! I’m happy to hear they are making a sequel but it won’t be in theaters until 2015, bummer! To make it even better I heard Anna Kendrick’s song “When I’m Gone” on the radio Wednesday and loved it! There is actually a list of ten reasons why Pitch Perfect is so popular and you can read them here.

#6 Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole
Mike cooked chicken and wild rice casserole for dinner this week and it was delicious! I’m so excited to eat the leftovers for lunch. J We didn’t follow Iowa Girl Eats’ recipe (we cheated and used cream of chicken soup) but I’m sure hers tastes just as delicious and that was my inspiration. I recommend trying it!

#5 Fooootball!
Thursday was the official start of the NFL season but no cares about the Ravens. Sunday is when it really starts when the Steelers play and I’m really hoping they look better than did in preseason!

#4 Pilates Barre
Last night I tried something new and different: a pilates barre fitness class. I used to dance and loved ballet so I was certainly intrigued when hearing about the class. The class is a combination of ballet, pilates, and yoga. I didn’t hate it and I loved the ballet exercises but I’m on the fence about it. Have you ever tried a pilates barre class?

#3 Pumpkin cream cheese
Labor Day weekend is the end of summer and start of fall which means Pumpkin flavors! We bought Philadelphia pumpkin cream cheese this week and I am so happy. Next is to stock up on Pumpkin Eggo Waffles. I’m going to buy 4 boxes every time we go to the store. J

#1 Sour Cream Pancakes with Caramelized Bananas
Sour cream is a surprising character for me. I usually associate sour cream with potatoes or tacos and not sweets. But these pancakes are delicious and the bananas take it to a new level! I would love to make these again and luckily I can because we have a lot of sour cream in our fridge!
