I have a short and sweet post for you today and it’s DIY one. This project was so simple that you may wonder why I even bothered posting it. It was a cute idea I had and I wanted to share it with you just in case you hadn’t already thought of it.
I enjoy scrapbooking but have gotten away from it in the past couple years. One of the reasons why is Shutterfly photo books have become really popular lately and are much easier to create, plus I haven’t had time. I haven’t jumped on the Shutterfly bandwagon yet but I have a feeling I will in the future.
So for my DIY scrapbook cover I took my current scrapbook that looked like this:
I know, drab, right? Looking back I don’t know why I purchased this hideous scrapbook aside from the likelihood that it was on sale. And I don’t know why I didn’t change it sooner.
To update the cover I took leftover fabric I had from my blue chair cushion and cut it to fit the entire outside cover plus an inch extra to fold over the edges. The fabric was on clearance when I bought it at Wal Mart for $5 and what a good deal when I’ve used it twice! Once the fabric was cut I glued it on with craft glue and framed the cover photo with pipe cleaners.
So much better! The pipe cleaner frame isn’t perfect but I can live with it. Now I just need to add my pictures and my scrapbook will be complete!
