Grilling Week, Day 3

Holy moly, it’s Wednesday! And that means it’s day 3 of grilling week and last night’s meal was our best grilling meal ever! I am not kidding you either. It’s like the grilling gods shined down on us and gave us the gift of mastering the grill last night. I assure you I’m not crazy, maybe just not fully awake yet.

So anyways, the best grilling meal ever: we had crispy chicken drumsticks with potatoes cooked in foil and steamed broccoli. My only complaint was our broccoli was more of ‘restaurant broccoli’ rather than our favorite roasted broccoli from the oven. But we don’t have an oven so I can’t complain (too much ;)). We made up for the broccoli by enjoying free summer shandy from our hotel!

For the drummies we seasoned them with salt, pepper, garlic powder and a little of cayenne, cajun, and olive oil. We planned to add BBQ sauce at the end for the last 5 minutes but we forgot the sauce and after smelling the drumsticks determined there was no need. We heated the grill to 450 degrees and cooked them for 30-35 minutes until the internal temperature was 190 degrees, turning them every 7 minutes or so.

For the potatoes I bought red, white and blue fingerling potatoes! (They are technically purple and not blue but I like the idea of being patriotic with July 4th coming up.)

We seasoned the potatoes with salt, pepper, minced garlic and some olive oil. If we had butter I would have added just a touch of butter but we’ll remember that for next time. :)

The end result was phenomenal! I highly recommend this meal and you won’t be disappointed!
