Friday’s Top Ten, 1.11.13

I had a pretty good week this week and I’ve decided to share my top ten moments/things/recipes/etc with you.

#10: My DIY Infinity Scarf

My friend had a pin on pinterest with 45 different ways to tie a scarf and I found one on how to make an your own infinity scarf and I had the perfect scarf to use. My scarf was WAY too long but very cute- black with sparkles. Here is the picture of my successful pinterest creation! It totally looks like an infinity/circle scarf.

#9: Lemon Ricotta Cookies

This Friday is one of my coworker’s birthdays and we always bring in sweets to celebrate. I decided to make the Lemon Ricotta cookies by Giada De Laurentis that I made at Christmas because I LOVE them and so did everyone else! These are definitely going to be a staple recipe for potlucks and holidays!

#8: Birchbox

My wonderful boyfriend signed me up for 6 months of Birchbox for Christmas and this week I received my second box! Birchbox sends samples of beauty, hair, and fragrance products and if you like them you can purchase them on Birchbox’s website and many have free shipping! I have a shampoo sample, fragrance sample, moisturizer, eye primer, and body lotion to try this month! It’s only $10 and you get a bunch of samples.

Hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door for $10/month.

#7: Milwaukee

This is on my top ten this week to get me excited for my move to the Artic, I mean Milwaukee, WI. I am excited for the summers because there will be music festivals, trips to Chicago (hopefully), hanging out at Lake Michigan. So if I picture this I might be a little more excited:

#6: Boots!

I received the same thing from my mom and brother for Christmas so I returned one of them and received store credit at Kohl’s. I don’t shop at Kohl’s often but have been wanting a pair of black boots. I ordered a pair but when they arrived they turned out to be really uncomfortable in the toe and tight in the calves. Mike and I went to Forever 21 to look for a black pair and hopefully on sale and we found the exact same pair but more comfy! I had to order them and they haven’t arrived yet but I should have them Monday and I can’t wait! Now I find out they are an extra 50% off the price I paid! Oh man, I may need to buy the chestnut pair…

#5: Corgi Cuteness

Now that Christmas is over I needed to find a new Corgi desktop picture and I found this adorable Corgi at Corgi She is adorable and I love looking at my desktop all day! :)

#4: Solofill Cup

Number 4 is not as exciting as boots but it is environmentally green. Mike decided he wanted to buy a solofill cup for his Keurig so he can brew his own coffee and make it as strong as he wants while saving money. I think this is an awesome idea because we’ll save money while in Milawaukee!

#3: BBQ Cheddar Meatloaves

I LOVE Iowa Girl Eats blog and her recipe for BBQ Cheddar Meatloaves! They are delicious and I told all of my coworkers about them and they feel the same way! I made them this Monday and I love how the cheddar ooooozes out with the taste of bbq sauce. This is how meatloaf should be made from now on!

#2: Molten Lava Cakes

Another soon to be staple for Iowa Girl Eats blog is her Molten Lava Cakes. Mike and I had these twice over the Christmas/New Years break and they are super easy to make and super yummy! We had ours with vanilla ice cream and it melted nicely over the warm molten cake.

#1: 2013 Shoe Calendar

Lastly we have my new 2013 shoe desktop calendar! I love shoes and anyone who knows me knows this. My best friend bought me this for Christmas and it’s 365 days of shoes so I get to look at a new shoe everyday! What could be better? Maybe 365 days of Corgis but I’ll take the shoes this year!
